Yarn Selection:

To make jiu-jitsu fabric, the first step is choosing the right cotton yarn. There are different types with varying fiber length, thickness, and quality. Manufacturers usually pick long-staple cotton because it's strong and soft, making the fabric durable for intense jiu-jitsu training.

Pre-Treatment and Sizing:

After weaving, the fabric might go through pre-treatment processes like washing, bleaching, or mercerizing. These treatments remove impurities, improve color absorption, and enhance the fabric's strength and shine. Sizing, which involves applying a protective starch-like substance, may also be done to strengthen the yarns and make the fabric less likely to shrink.

Cutting and Stitching

Fabric is laid out and marked with the pattern. Fabric cutting according to the Sizes. After cutting the fabric pieces, they are taken to sewing machines. Skilled seamstresses or sewing operators use the machines to stitch the pieces together, following specific patterns and instructions. They use strong stitching techniques like lockstitch or flat-felled seams to ensure the garment's strength and durability.

Weaving Techniques:

To make jiu-jitsu Ji, cotton yarn is woven using different techniques to create various fabric weaves. Some common weaves used are pearl weave, single weave, double weave, and ripstop. Each weave has its traits like weight, breathability, and durability. Manufacturers select the weave based on the desired performance and functionality of the final product.

Dyeing and Finishing:

After preparing the fabric, it goes through dyeing. Different methods like vat dyeing, reactive dyeing, or pigment dyeing are used. Manufacturers choose colorfast dyes to maintain vibrant colors after washing. After dyeing, the fabric undergoes finishing processes like heat setting or calendaring to improve its softness, drape, and appearance.

Quality Control:

Once the stitching is complete, the GI goes through a final inspection to check for any flaws or inconsistencies. Throughout the manufacturing process, quality control measures are in place to maintain consistency and ensure the fabric meets standards.
